About

Viv Sheldon
DipPhys. PGDip(Sports Physio). MHPrac (Acup). APP(Musculoskeletal).
I am the first physiotherapist in New Zealand to be titled by the NZ Physio Board as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist. This is reflected in my expert approach to every client I see. I provide a thorough, individualised assessment and treatment. I have many years of experience as a physio which has given me extensive knowledge that I can use to help with diagnosis and treatment options.
I graduated from AUT in 1992 then worked in New Zealand and the UK. On my return to NZ I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy, and my Masters of Health Practice in Acupuncture. In 2024 I was titled as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist. Those with this title are seen to have advanced clinical skills and are leaders within the profession. I work with all age groups but particularly enjoy working with children and adolescents. Alongside general physiotherapy I have developed an interest in treating jaw pain. Over the years I have enjoyed working with elite sports organisations which have included Mystics Netball, NZ Football, Touch North Harbour, Netball North Harbour and England Netball.
Outside of work I enjoy running, playing touch rugby and netball as well as going to the gym. My husband and I have two daughters who have kept us very busy following their sports teams.
